Step 1
Gather and prepare the following for the chunky mocha and almond brownies recipe:
(Ingredients)
* Cooking spray, non-stick
* 2 tablespoons instant mocha coffee granules (powder)
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
* 3 tablespoons melted butter
* 2 tablespoons warm water
* 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 large beaten egg, yolk and white
* 1/3 cup toast and chopped almond, 2 tablespoons almond powder or 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
* 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/2 (about 3 ounces) dark chocolate bar containing 70%+ cocoa, chopped -
Step 2
Spray bottom of an 8" x 8" baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Position rack in the center and then preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine in a large bowl all the ingredients starting from mocha coffe granules, except for the flour and chopped dark chocolate bar. Add the ingredients in the order listed in Step 1, stirring and blending before the next addition.

Sprinkle flour on the mocha-mixture with a measuring cup. Fold flour in to form brownie batter to desired consistency. Add more warm water 1 tablespoon at a time, if batter becomes too dry. Add in the chopped dark chocolate piece, blend well.

Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake in 350°F oven for 32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Step 6
Remove from heat and cool mocha and almond brownies in pan or wire rack, about 5 minutes. Slice into pieces with a serrated knife before serving.
Chunky mocha and almond brownies recipe yields an average 16 pieces, depending on your cutting size.
