Know what the weather forecast will be before planning that outdoor event. Keep reading to find out how to see graphical forecasts on your computer.

  1. Step 1

    Knowing what the weather is supposed to do can be a vital part of any planned outdoor events. Find out about that weather report by first going to your computer.

  2. Step 2
    You can even look at the sky cover map to see if it will be blue sky or cloudy.

    Get online and go to weather.gov, look in the upper right corner and make sure that NWS is checked. Then go to the buttons above the U.S. map and click on graphical forecasts. Then scroll down below the U.S. map and click on the weather map.

    To the left of the U.S. map you will see a box that shows the different available weather maps on the left side of the box. To the right side you will see the times. Move your mouse over the different times beside the weather button and the map will change showing the expected weather for that day and time. The button at the top of the box that says +12 or -12 advances it 12 hours. You will notice that these maps are fairly accurate.

    You can then go to the graphical forecasts for temperature highs and lows, probability of precipitation, sky cover, and more. You can then click on and get the views from radar, satellite, air quality, climate, and weather warnings by state, along with much more.
