No medical book really explains what causes canker sore breakouts, though many people believe they are caused by stress. The best way to help prevent future canker sore breakouts is to find ways to manage your stress.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Increase your intake of Zinc through foods, or take it in supplemental form. Zinc helps wounds heal faster, and technically canker sores are in fact wounds. Take about 30 milligrams per day with food until the canker sores have healed.

  2. Step 2

Apply Myrrh directly to canker sores. Myrrh helps to repair injured skin. It works best when using a myrrh tincture. Just add a few drops of a cotton gauze and apply to the sores for about 10 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Apply Bee Propolis to the canker sores directly. Bee Propolis helps to seal in nutrients and moisture so that the tissue can heal faster.

  4. Step 4

Take Lysine in supplemental form daily until the canker sores are healed. Lysine is an amino acid that people usually lack when they get canker sores. If you suffer from canker sores you may want to consider taking about 500 milligrams twice per day.
