This is a recipe I created to serve in my own restaurant. Usually I don't like giving out my recipes but this is one of those that must be shared with the world. I combined my two favorite food, French Toast and Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 to 3 Slices Texas Toast
  • Peanut Butter
  • Crushed Peanuts
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Milk or Cream
  • Jelly
  1. Step 1

Spread peanut butter on both sides of the Texas Toast. Spread the peanut butter evenly.

  2. Step 2

Dip both sides into the crushed peanuts. Push into the peanuts to coat both sides.

  3. Step 3

Combine the eggs and milk into a simple egg batter. Soak the bread in the egg batter until it is completely soaked and soggy.

  4. Step 4

Once the bread is fully soaked, you can do either one of two things. You can either fry it on a hot griddle or you can bake on a wire rack in the oven. I prefer the griddle.

  5. Step 5

Serve on a large plate with a nice dollop of jelly on top of each slice. Also, serve with strawberry flavored syrup for a better flavor.

Tips & Warnings

on 11/17/2009 I prefer the traditional French Toast with regular sliced white or wheat bread. Whip together 1 egg, 1 tsp. real vanilla extract and 1 tsp. cinnamon, for every 2 slices of bread. Dunk each slice of bread until bread is thoroughly coated and almost ready to fall apart. Place bread on hot grill til golden-brown on each side and puffy. Removed from heat and sprinkle confectionary sugar on top of toast and a patty of real butter for each slice and serve with an order of crisp, slab bacon, for the sweet/salty thing! Oh yeah!
