2. Buy the ticket well in advance if possible. Most airlines have discounts within four months of a departure date. That window will close within 14 days of the flight.

3. Check the website just after 12:01 a.m. on a Wednesday. This when the airline computer system sets discounts for upcoming flights. These prices may be up for just two or three days. This is the best time to look for a ticket with a significant discount.
