Instructions

    • 1

Exfoliate your skin as much as possible the night before the tan. Use a loofah, sponge or exfoliating body wash to get as much dead skin off your body as possible. When you get out of the shower, put lotion all over your body. If your skin is dry, the spray tan will not look natural and won't absorb evenly.

    • 2

Shave or get a wax before your spray treatment, if you plan to do either. Shaving and waxing also remove dead skin, so will make your tan fade if you do them afterward.

    • 3

Secure your hair off of your neck and shoulders before the tan.

    • 4

Bring a pot/bottle of Vaseline with you. Put a light layer on your lips, inside your nostrils and on the palms of your hands. This prevents those areas from getting spray tanner on or in them.

    • 5

Wear a dark outfit if you don't plan to get the spray in the nude. Tanners typically include bronzers, which can stain clothing. Shower before wearing lighter clothing or getting in bed.

    • 6

Wear the goggles provided by the spray tan center.
