Step 1
REMOVE BUILD UP. Product build up is one of the biggest reasons for lifeless hair. Products such as hairspray, conditioners, creams, anti-frizz serums and other hair styling products can actually weigh your hair strands down and leave it lifeless because it adds weight to your hair strands. You should be removing the product build-up in your hair at least twice a week. You can buy inexpensive clarifying shampoos or even use a little baking soda in with your regular shampoo to scrub off those products from your luscious locks.
-
Step 2
CHOOSE YOUR PRODUCTS WISELY. Every woman buy into the gimmick of "this hair product does this (insert here)". Most of the products that promise instant volume and instant body are more expensive and usually doesn't work so well the first few times you use it. Stick with what you KNOW works. In my experience products that look heavy ARE heavy on your hair. Creams, lotions and conditioners promising volume almost always fail to do so. On the other hands, products like root lifters, light gels, and moose work better for producing a "bouncy" feel to your hair.
-
Step 3
GET A TRIM. This is another easy and simple way to get some extra bounce in your hair. If your hair is shoulder length or longer - it can get heavy causing it to appear lifeless when it just needs some TLC. You should get a trim regular to rid yourself of dead ends. Not only will it have bounce, but it makes it a 100% more manageable.

Step 4
BIG CURLERS = BIG HAIR. This is so true. If you want "runway" volume to your hair - invest in 2 inch curlers. You can choose between velcro curlers or hot curlers - either one will do the trick for your hair. Remember, the bigger the roller, the bigger the volume. Roll your hair straight backwards, lifting all the way down to the root, all the way down the middle of your head. Leave them in for an hour or so and BAM! Instant volume!
-
Step 5
TRY DIFFERENT METHODS. Mix and match these methods until you find the best solution for your hair type. If you have naturally curly hair, your going to get volume easier than a straight haired person. Just remember, if you succeed the first time, try again. It takes time and patience to learn how you hair will perform correctly.
