Step 1
Choose your child’s favorite Dr. Seuss book for toddlers. These books are sold online and at major bookstores. Most public libraries carry all of Dr. Seuss toddler’s stories for use by members. Use the books in the library or at home.

Step 2
Read the book to the toddler a few times. Before logging on to play Dr. Seuss’s stories online make sure your child is familiar with the story’s characters, lines and general concepts.

Visit sites for Dr. Seuss online interactive games. There a few commercial websites offering free access to most stories. A trip to the library can also be used to play Dr. Seuss games since most libraries provide free internet access to members.

Step 4
Engage the child in the online story game. Let the child navigate the game using the computer mouse. Discuss the rules of the story and the game. Make a list with your child of concepts, things and characters used in the story game and talk about their meanings.
Count various objects used in the game. Name the colors and shapes in the story game. If the story is a rhyme play with rhyming words; you say one word and the child says a similar word. -
Step 5
Print Dr. Seuss story worksheets from the online game. Use these worksheets to further deepen your child’s understanding of the story. These can be use for filling in the blanks with correct words, for counting and coloring.
