At nearly $10 a pop, movie tickets aren't cheap these days - unless you know where to look. Affordable movie tickets actually aren't that hard to find. If you're willing to do a little research, you can save a lot of money. Here's how to get cheap movie tickets:

1. See a matinee. Morning and afternoon movie tickets are offered at a huge discount. You might even get more than half-off! Some cities also have discount movie theaters, so see if there's one near you. You'll have to wait a while after movies first come out, but it's worth paying $1-$2 for a show!

2. Shop in bulk. You can get discount tickets from companies like AAA (if you're a member), Costco, and Bultix online. Avoid discount movie ticket website that have high shipping charges. If you don't want to join companies for discounted movie tickets, try the Entertainment Book for your area.

3. Keep your eye out for special offers. Movie tickets may be a reward for buying certain products, or staying at popular hotel chains. Just be on the lookout for deals. You might even be able to get rewards on your credit card, and exchange them for discounted (or free) movie tickets.
