Raising funds for your organization can be hard, but with simple and fun events you can make $300.00 - $900.00 or more in about 6 hours with little cost to your organization.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • You will need 20 pink flamingos per group. These can be purchased through companies that sell party theme items, toys and carnival items.
  1. Step 1

The first step you need to do is announce the event with fliers, posters or ads. Advertisements will make your event less profitable. Offer Flamingo Flocking Insurance. Persons can pay $15.00 and be guaranteed their home will not get flocked on the flocking day. Also, sell pre flockings. Persons can pay $15.00 in advance to flock someone's home. Keep a list. Be sure to advertise the time the flocking will take place. We usually do 10-3 on a Saturday. This way we do not wake anyone up thou you may catch a few in their pajamas.

  2. Step 2

Have pre-printed slips explaining the flocking, so people can read the organization's name and what the event is actually for and what they need to do.

  3. Step 3

On the flocking day, organize two to four groups of two to four people. You do not want more than that per group. If you have too many people per group people will feel like they are being invaded. Divide the list of pre-sale flockings up among all the groups. This gives you a place to start. You may have to add a few of your own to get the ball rolling.

  4. Step 4

When you arrive at a home one person should approach the door while the others start placing the flamingos around the yard. The person that approached the door should knock and then explain who they are and what the event is for and how it works.

  5. Step 5

The basics to this event is: The house that gets flocked is asked to "make a donation to the organization, most people donate $10.00 to the organization to have the flock removed. They can pay 15.00 and tell the flock which house to go to next." Some will pay the 15 and some will only pay you the 10.00. Most people are very good and have a great time. You will get your stinkers every once in a while, so make sure you pick houses where the people have a good sense of humor.

Tips & Warnings
