How to Park a Scooter

Scooters are fun vehicles to drive; you can park them anywhere, drive them all over town and enjoy a generally pleasurable experience. Most people don't own their own scooter, so when it comes time to drive one, they often aren't familiar with simple tasks such as filling up the gas tank and parking the vehicle. These tasks, however, are easy to accomplish.

Instructions

    • 1

Stop the vehicle and set it in a level space where you'd like to park. Most scooters can be stored in bicycle racks or on the street; look for different parking options.

    • 2

Step to one side and lean your body mass to that side. This is your planting foot; by making sure it's secure, you'll be better off for the next step.

    • 3

Kick down the kickstand with your other foot to put it on the ground.

    • 4

Squeeze the brake levers on the handlebars to activate the brakes. Push back with both feet to rock the scooter back onto the kickstand. Move as fluidly as possible to engage the stand properly.
