How to Fill a Scooter

Scooters are fun vehicles that are great for cruising around on in small towns, urban landscapes or Europe on a vacation. They're easy to drive, easy to park and, generally, easy to maintain. But if you don't own a scooter, some of the more basic tasks may seem foreign, such as filling it up with gas.

Instructions

1. Lift up the seat on the scooter by pulling on the handle located underneath the front of the seat. This may be a locking model depending on what type of scooter you have. Insert the key to lift the seat if necessary.

2. Unscrew the gas cap using your hands. Turning it to the left will get it off quickly and easily.

3. Place the filler neck of the gas can or the gas nozzle into the tank, pushing it tight with the filler neck to create a seal. Then pull the trigger to fill the tank with gasoline.

4. Pull out the filler slightly and shake the end inside the gas tank to remove residual gasoline.

5. Tighten the gas cap on the tank and close the seat cover.
