Use the exhaust fan in the bathroom. The exhaust fan can help vent extra moisture and prevent the creation of a climate suitable for mildew to occur.

2
Close the curtain when you get out of the shower. Spreading out the curtain as much as possible allows the curtain to shed the water. Mildew develops when water is allowed to accumulated and stand in the nooks and crannies of the shower liner.

Spray the shower liner with orange oil or lemon oil. Dilute the oil slightly and use a misting spray bottle. Be careful: The oil will make the interior of the tub slick when it is first applied. This can also be applied to most tile to prevent the formation of mildew and soap scum buildup.

4
Mist the shower liner with a very light mix of bleach water with a drop or two of dish detergent in it after every shower. The bleach helps kill any mold or mildew that has already started and the dish soap helps prevent things from attaching to the shower liner.
