How to Wash a Golf Cap
Golf hats arguably get dirtier than just about anything else one wears while playing golf. Sweat, body oils, and dirt combine to make washing golf hats a real challenge. The dirtiest part of a golf hat or a baseball hat is usually its inside head band, which can be more difficult to get clean than ring around the collar.
Things You'll Need

- Hot water dishwasher cycle

- Bath towel

1
Place one to six dirty golf hats on the upper rack of an automatic dishwasher. Make sure they are sitting on the rack in a flat position, with nothing bending or creasing the bill. To ensure proper shaping, put each hat on a plastic hat form, which are readily available at most home centers and drug stores.

2
Fill the dishwasher soap dish with regular or extra-strength automatic dishwasher detergent. Set the controls to hot water, heavy cycle, and heated dry.

3
Run the dishwasher. Remove the hats. If they are not completely dry, set the hats on a terrycloth bath towel on a flat surface. Again, make sure the bill is in shape.

Tips & Warnings
Do not try to remove spots or stains prior to washing. If the inside headband is extra dirty, lightly spray it with stain remover prior to the dishwasher treatment. Too much spray will cause bleeding of dark colors onto light colors.
