How to Spray Citrus Trees
Citrus trees bear lovely foliage and flowers throughout the growing season. The fruit they bear is also better quality than the purchased variety, since you tend and harvest it yourself. In general, citrus trees are not difficult to maintain even when they are wilting or infested with pests. These are easy to remedy with various sprays that can be applied directly to the leaves. Sprays can also be used to fertilize a healthy tree and keep it pest-free. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Choose a garden sprayer. Varieties include reservoirs that sit on the ground, types that sit on your back, and types that attach to the end of a garden hose. Hose-end garden sprayers are the easiest to use, clean and store.
-
2
Mix the pesticide or fertilizer according to package instructions. Fill the reservoir with the solution. For a hose-end garden sprayer, screw the nozzle onto the garden hose and screw the reservoir into the nozzle. Other garden sprayers come with a hose attachment and only need to be filled and closed.

3
Turn on the pressure to the hose or sprayer to medium spray. The spray should be strong enough to reach the tree's branches but not so hard that it blasts leaves from the tree.
-
4
Spray the underside of the tree's leaves first. Moisten the leaves thoroughly, but do not soak them. If spraying during the day, do not spray the top foliage. Sun glare on water droplets could cause the leaves to scorch. Spray the top foliage at dusk.
