1
Purchase castor oil and a carrier oil like sunflower seed oil or extra virgin olive oil. The castor oil is the key cleansing ingredient here. Olive oil or sunflower seed oil are good choices for a carrier oil to blend with the castor oil because they are the most natural of the vegetable oils and contain fatty acids that are essential to healthy skin.

2
Sterilize a bottle and a cap so that you have a clean container for your cleansing oil mixture. You don't want to risk any bacteria growth because this will defeat the purpose and cause your skin to break out.

3
Mix your castor and carrier oil together in the bottle, with the amounts differing depending on your skin type. If you have dry skin, mix about 10 percent of the castor oil with 90 percent of the carrier oil. For oily skin you will need 30 percent castor oil and 70 percent carrier oil, and if your skin more balanced, add 20 percent castor oil to 80 percent carrier oil. Close the cap on the bottle and shake it up to mix the two oils.

Wash your face or your body with your oil mixture at night before you go to bed. You will only need to do this once a day, because over-washing can dry out or irritate your skin. Squirt a quarter-sized pool of the oil in your palms and work it between your hands. Massage the oil gently on your skin. The oil will also be effective in removing any makeup on your face.

5
Hold a warm, wet wash cloth against your face to gently rinse away the oils. You don't need to scrub, as the water and castor oil will work to remove all oils, dirt and dead skin cells. Repeat wetting the wash cloth and applying it to your skin as many times as you need to remove all of the oil.
