How to Grill Steak on Medium Temperature

Grilling is the process of cooking food over a direct heat source. There are many ways to grill food, a few of the most common ways are by using a charcoal, gas or open flamed grill. When it comes to grilling food, stakes are a highly ranked favorite. When grilling steaks, the thickness of the steak usually determines how long, and at what temperature, the steak needs to cook.       Remove steaks from the freezer or refrigerator and let them sit until they reach about room temperature. If steaks have already been thawed and placed in the refrigerator then it should only take about 30 minutes to reach room temperature, if still frozen it can take a few hours.

      Heat your grill to a medium temperature. If using a gas grill, adjust the temperature by simply turning the knob to medium. If using a charcoal or open flame grill, heat the grill to a temperature level that you can hold the palm of your hand over, for roughly four to five seconds. Be careful not to touch the grill grate, or open flame, as this may cause serious burns.

      Season the steak with your favorite seasoning. Place the steaks on the grill grate over direct heat. Cook on for approximately 3 minutes or until browned, flip the steak over to cook the other side of the steak for 3 to 5 minutes.

      Remove the steak from the grill and check the internal temperature by inserting a meat thermometer, the steak is done when it reaches a temperature of between 145 and 170 degrees. Let the steak sit for about 5 minutes, it will continue to cook after it has been removed from the heat.
