How to Buy a Gulfstream RV
Traveling in a recreational vehicle, or RV, is a great way to go out and see the world without having to check in and out of hotels and pack all your things in a suitcase. However, you need to buy an RV from a reputable company, such as Gulfstream, before you can travel in one, and that is a big investment.

1
Locate a Gulfstream RV dealer near you. You can do this through the Gulfstream website (www.gulfstreamcoach.com/locator/dealerlocator.php) by typing in your city or zip code and mile radius in which you are willing to travel. There are over 700 Gulfstream dealers in North America.
-
2
Visit a Gulfstream dealer. Take a tour inside different types of Gulfstream RVs. Make sure the inside of an RV seems like an environment in which you would be comfortable sleeping, preparing food or anything else you'd have to do over the course of a trip.

3
Rent an RV before you buy one. Most RV dealerships offer rentals for their customers. Make sure that traveling in an RV something you and your family are comfortable with and plan to do frequently for years to come.
-
4
Set a budget--not just for how much you are willing to spend on an RV, but for how much you are willing to spend once you have the RV. While you may not have to pay for a hotel, an RV is going to cost more to fuel than a car would. You'll also need to pay to park your RV overnight, in most places.
-
5
Weigh the pros and cons of buying a new or used RV. Test drive any RV before buying it. See if the dealer is selling everything everything at a set price or if you can haggle toward a lower price.
-
6
Set up a payment plan that is right for you now, as well as years from now. RVs are much like houses, in that they often seem easy to buy at the moment but become more difficult to pay for later.

Tips & Warnings
Get a vehicle inspection and prior-owner information on any used RV before you buy it.
Make a list of places you want to travel. Destinations such as New York City or Chicago are not the easiest places to take an RV.
