How to Level Characters in WoW with Rested Experience
World or Warcraft, also called WoW, is an online role playing game where players control characters that gain experience by killing monsters and completing quests. In WoW, players can create dozens of characters across different servers, but it can be difficult to have enough time to level up many different characters. One way to increase leveling speed on less active characters is to use rested experience--a special temporary experience gain bonus that you can build up when a character is not logged into the game.

1
Log onto WoW with the character you want to level up with rest exp and log out inside a city or inn. You gain rested experience any time you log out, but when you are inside a city or inn you will gain rested experience four times faster. Your character icon should be glowing yellow when you are in an area that is granting accelerated rest experience.

2
Log back in to WoW using the resting character within 10 days of logging out in the inn or city. Rest experience can accumulate for up to 10 days of real time before you don't gain any more. The total accumulated amount of rest experience will equal 1.5 levels.

Leave the city and kill monsters that are around your level until you gain enough experience to exhaust your accumulated rested experience. Rested experience will cause you to gain experpience points from monsters twice as fast as normal, but it will not increase experience gains from other sources such as PvP or quests.

Go back to a city or inn and log out again to begin accumulating rest, and repeat the process to level up over time.

Tips & Warnings
You can accumulate rest experience on an unlimited number of characters at the same time, so you can use this strategy to level up several different characters that you do not use as your main character.
Even if you play a character every day, logging out inside a city or inn will give you a little bit of extra rested exp by the time you log on the next day.
