How to Create a Science Display Board
Science fairs are commonplace in schools today. Kids show how much they have learned about a topic using science display boards, which give information about experiments they have done. The more elaborate a display board; the better a grade the student receives on his project. The science display board can also give the student prompts about what to discuss next when presenting his science project.

1
Compile all the information from the science report. Divide the project into different categories, such as habitat, appearance and diet, if the report was about an animal. Try to keep the sections to no more than 10 to allow for room on your display board.
-
2
Type up a page for each of the categories, including the category title at the top of the page. Use different fonts and colors to make your board look more attractive and interesting. Enlarge the fonts to fill the paper depending on how many categories you have and how much information you collected. Make sure the fonts are large and easy to read.

3
Print out all the category pages. Set these aside.
-
4
Center the title of your science report or project in the middle of the board. Use a pencil to lightly write out the title. Outline the title in marker, or you could print it out using your computer and then tape the title to the display board.
-
5
Lay your display board on a large, flat surface. Arrange the sheets of paper that contain your categories in a chronological order on your board.
-
6
Add photos, whether you took them or printed them off the Internet, and arrange them under the appropriate categories. Add charts and drawings to make the board show even more information.
-
7
Attach the papers, charts, drawings and the pictures using the double-sided tape.
-
8
Make borders for each piece of paper and photo on your board using decorative paper. (Scrapbooking paper works well for this since it is larger than normal paper and comes in many different colors and styles.) Cut the paper into strips that are a ½ inch larger than the paper or picture. Use the double-sided tape to affix them to the board.
