How to Mix Reed Diffuser Oils

Reed diffusers are a popular way to scent your home with unique fragrances. If you can boil water, you can easily mix together your own fragrances for use in reed diffusers. For the purposes of mixing diffuser oils, use "parts" as measurements as opposed to specific measurements such as ounces or cups. This way you can easily adjust the amounts up or down to suit your needs. If the mixture becomes too thick and does not move up the reeds, add a small amount of perfumer's alcohol to dilute the oil. Some essential oils may cloud or darken over time, as is the case with citrus oils or vanilla; this is normal and will not affect the aroma of the finished product.
