How to Unlock Sanyo 8200 Phones

The Sanyo 8200 is probably the most easily unlocked cell phone ever created. This phone could be a target for cell phone hackers, but since it isn't a smart phone and doesn't carry as much data as newer phones and PDAs, it's highly unlikely that a hacker would waste his time on it. Therefore, a complex algorhythm for securing the phone's information isn't necessary. All you need to open the phone is the four-digit PIN number. It takes only seconds to enter it.

Things You'll Need:

• Correct four-digit PIN number

1. Flip open the phone and press and hold the "Enter" (Power Off) button to turn the phone on.

2. Press the "Unlock" button, which is the left soft button.

3. Enter your four-digit PIN number. If this doesn't work, move on to Step 4.

4. Enter either of the following numbers: the last four digits of your Social Security number; the last four digits of your Spring PCS phone number; or "0000." If this doesn't work, it's probably because the phone wasn't activated before it was shipped. Move on to Step 5.

5. Contact Sprint PCS Customer Solutions and you will be given a PIN number that will allow you to unlock your phone. Once you have the PIN number, perform Steps 2 and 3 and the phone will be unlocked.

Tips & Warnings

• If Sprint has to give you a PIN number, use it to unlock the phone and then change the number to something you'll easily remember.
