How to Design a House Game for Free
Designing your own house is an enriching experience for kids of all ages, and is possible to do on a number of websites. One of them is HighlightKids.com, which was founded by the publishers of "Highlights" magazine. Highlights has long been respected for its commitment to educating children while entertaining them.
To play Highlight's house design game, complete the following steps:

Point your browser to Highlightskidsplus.com. Enter the search term "gingerbread house" in the search box at the center of the page. In the search results page that follows, click the "Gingerbread House" link. The gingerbread house appears for you to start designing and decorating.

Click on the "Candy" tab at the left of the frame. When the candy pieces are exposed, left-click and release the left mouse button on one of them, such as the candy cane. Move your mouse pointer so it's positioned anywhere over the house, then do another left-click and release again. This will release the candy cane.
Turn off the music if it starts to bother you: click on the musical note at the lower right of the design window.

Reposition the candy cane: Instead of using left-click and release this time, you must left-click and drag the candy cane to its new position.
Position another piece from the candy drawer just as you did the candy cane: left click and release to pick up the piece; move the mouse to any part of the house; then click and release again to let go of the piece. Change the new piece's position by left-clicking and dragging it, rather than clicking and releasing it.

Click the candy tab to close it, then click on any other tab, such as "Stuff," "Food," or "Icing." Design your house by moving objects from these tabs onto the house.

Learn other operations besides moving the design pieces: select, by single-left-clicking, any piece you've already placed on the house. Click either the left or right arrows next to the Rotate label. The piece you selected will rotate once, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Select another piece and rotate it the same way.
Select a piece and click the up and down arrows next to the "Size" label. The piece will grow or shrink. Try the "Flip" icon in the same way, and then the "Trash" icon.

Print your masterpiece house by pressing the "Print" icon, which is in the upper left corner of the design window.
