Things You'll Need:
- Wine glass
- Candle
- Marbles
- Flat-backed glass stones
- Jeweler's glue
- Craft wire
- Wire cutters
- Round nose pliers
- 4-mm crystal beads
- Glass paint
- Paint sponge
-
Step 1
Attach flat-backed glass stones to a small wine glass with clear jeweler's glue. Lay the glass on its side to glue on the stones, let the glue dry and then roll the glass to decorate another side. Continue to roll the wine glass as the glue dries, adding colorful stones as you like.
-
Step 2
Fill the goblet halfway full with colorful marbles.
-
Step 3
Nestle a tea light into the center of the marbles and your wine glass is now a candle holder.
-
Step 4
Choose a wine glass large enough to hold a votive or small pillar candle. Cut a section of 20-gauge craft wire long enough to wrap around the stem and the bottom half of the goblet.
-
Step 5
Make a loop with the round-nose pliers on one end of the wire. At the other end, thread crystal beads over the length of the wire. Make a loop on the other end to secure the beads on the wire.
-
Step 6
Wrap the beaded wire around the stem and the goblet of the wine glass and attach the wire to the glass with jeweler's glue.
-
Step 7
Place the candle in the wine glass and anchor it with marbles or more beads.
-
Step 8
Paint the outside of any wine glass with glass paint to make a colorful, translucent candle holder. Apply the glass paint, which is designed for slick surfaces, with a paint sponge. You can layer the paint with stencils or freehand a design.
-
Step 9
Wrap beaded wire in a loose spiral around the stem and part of the base, or glue flat-backed rhinestones onto the goblet for added decoration. Anchor the candle with marbles or beads.
