Setup
-
1
Set up your gaming space comfortably to accommodate multiple players. Move furniture to have an open area where players can move around freely and see the television screen.
-
2
Check your Rock Band peripherals (controllers) to make sure they are in working condition. If you have wireless peripherals, be sure their batteries are charged.
-
-
3
Put the drum set peripheral where the player can sit comfortably while he plays. A stool is a good option.
-
4
Put your snacks in an accessible area, and keep refreshments chilling in the refrigerator.
Get Ready To Rock
-
5
Insert the Rock Band video game into your gaming system and wait for it to load.
-
6
Designate who will be playing what role as up to four people can play at once. The guitar and bass options can both be played on guitar peripherals.
-
7
Navigate through the start menu until you reach the track list, and choose from a number of songs. If you have a singer, it helps if he knows the song since you accumulate points through pitch and tone.
-
8
Choose from Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert difficulties. If you've never played before, start on Easy until you become acclimated to the controls.
-
9
Hit the buttons on your guitar peripheral in time with the scrolling color-coordinated bars on the screen while strumming to accumulate points. Use drum sticks to hit the colored drum buttons on your drum peripheral in the same way to score points. The microphone works a lot like karaoke; if you're singing, you need to match the pitch and tone to accumulate points.
-
10
The more notes you hit in succession, the greater the score, but if you miss too many in a row, you or the band may get booed off the stage. Working as a band will help you get higher scores than playing alone.
