Updating Java Using the Java Control Panel

1. Click "Start," then click "Control Panel." Double-click "Java" to launch the Java Control Panel.

2. Click the "Update" tab and click "Update Now." Click "Install," then click "Install" again.

3. Close the Java Control Panel, and when the Java installation wizard prompts you, click "Continue." The latest Java is installed on your computer.

Updating Java from Sun Website

1. Go to the Java download page and click "Free Java Download."

2. Click "Save" and download the Java installation file to your computer. Double-click the Java installation file and click "Run" to launch the installation wizard.

3. Click "Accept" after reading the terms and conditions and click "Next." Select the checkbox for the Google Toolbar if you want to install the browser add-on. Click "Next." The Java application installs on your computer.
