Things You'll Need:
- Landscape pictures
- Scrapbooking paper
- Embellishments
- Scissors
- Glue
- Photo-editing software and a computer
- Printer
-
Step 1
Don't limit yourself to images you were able to capture with your own camera. Look for images in postcards, travel brochures and magazines, as well as free stock photos on the Internet for your scrapbook layouts.
-
Step 2
Bring your photos with you when you shop for paper and cardstock. Lay your landscape pictures directly onto the paper you like. Some colors or patters may cause your photos to look more drab, while others will make them practically pop off the page. Choose background papers that best complement the photos.
-
Step 3
Select borders and embellishments to go with your landscape pictures. For example, use leaf-shaped die cuts to surround a photo of autumn hills, or seashell stickers to complement a beach scene. Use red, white and blue borders for landscapes of national historic landmarks, such as Mount Rushmore.
-
Step 4
Make a collage of landscape pictures going down one side of the page and extending about two-thirds of the way across the page. Cut the pictures in square and rectangular shapes to fit them together like a jigsaw puzzle. On the other third of the paper, journal about the location or your experiences when you took the photos.
-
Step 5
Create a panoramic scene across your page. Do this by aligning two or three photos that you have taken in succession of a wide landscape. Line up the horizon lines to match. Trim the edges, if necessary, to make them even. Glue them together, overlapping the photos slightly so that they blend together seamlessly.
-
Step 6
Use your landscape photos as backgrounds. You can use photo-editing software to make them black and white, sepia-toned, or with decreased color saturation so they appear faded. Then print them out on plain cardstock to use as the backdrop for your layout or journaling.
