A "URL" refers to the web address of a certain Internet website. This address is listed at the top of your web browser, and it's what you type in to tell your web browser where to go. In order to have your own URL, all you need to do is create a website. There are a few places online that allow you to do this free of charge.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit a website that will let you create your own free website, which will give you a free URL. An example is Angelfire (See "resources").

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Sign up" button next to the free option. This will take you to the sign-up page. Fill in a user name, a password, an email address and the other information required on that page. The user name you choose will determine the URL that you get. You can see what this will be under where it says "Angelfire website address."

  3. Step 3

Click on "I Agree." This will send a confirmation message to the email address you entered. Go to your email, open the message and click the link there. This should activate your account and create your website URL.
