How to Season a Waffle Griddle
After every cleaning, it is important to season your waffle griddle, also known as a waffle iron, to ensure the iron's longevity and that you make a successful batch of waffles each time you use your iron. Seasoning a waffle iron is not very different from seasoning other pots and pans and requires no special tools or solutions. Although a seasoned iron will help waffles not stick to the surface, it is not a substitute for proper greasing or cooking spray use before batter is poured into the waffle iron. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
Skip the cooling step if you want to use the waffle iron right away. Be sure to spray it with cooking spray or grease it just before adding the batter.
Don't use olive oil to season your waffle iron. The high temperature will cause the oil to smoke.
