How to Store Celtic Sea Salt

Celtic Sea Salt® Brand salt is an all natural sea salt that is hand harvested from an area in northwestern France. Instructions

  1. Storing

    • 1

      If your Celtic Sea Salt® Brand salt is in a glass container, you may store it as it is. However, if it came in a bag it should be transferred to another container.

    • 2

      Spread it out on a baking sheet in a single layer and let air dry for a few hours.

    • 3

      Gather up the salt, put in into the new container and seal it.

Tips & Warnings

  • In order to preserve the taste and freshness, it is recommended that Celtic Sea Salt® Brand salt be stored in glass, ceramic, or wood containers with a loose fitting lid if storing for less than 6 weeks--with airtight lids if storing for longer periods of time.

  • Check your container often to make sure mold has not begun to grow inside it.

  • Do not store your sea salt in metal containers, as this salt is extremely moist and can cause the metal to corrode.

  • It is not recommended to store Celtic Sea Salt® Brand salt for periods longer than 3 to 6 months as mold can grow in the containers.
