How to Reinflate an Exercise Ball

Exercise balls are useful tools, as they are capable of supporting your weight while you perform techniques such as aerobics or weightlifting. However, when you first purchase a ball, or if you're taking it out of storage, you will need to reinflate it so you can use it properly.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the exercise ball on the floor and against a wall. Use the pencil to mark the area on the wall where the top of the ball is.

    • 2

Remove any stopper that the exercise ball may have. Place it somewhere where you can easily reach it.

    • 3

Connect the hand pump or air compressor to the hole where you inflate the ball. If you are using a compressor, be sure to plug it into an electrical outlet, too.

    • 4

Inflate the exercise ball, using the hand pump or compressor. Be sure to stop the ball every so often and test it by sitting on it. If you feel comfortable sitting on the ball and exercising, you can stop inflating the ball. If the ball reaches the mark on the wall, stop inflating it.

    • 5

Remove the pump from the hole in the exercise ball and replace any stopper.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your hand pump has a pressure gauge, you can compare it with the pressure in your ball's manual to see if the ball is inflated properly.

  • Be careful not to over-inflate the ball. You may destroy it and injure yourself.
