Groceries can be a large part of a family’s budget. Right now, many people are strapped for cash. A good way to have a little extra money in your budget is to cut back on groceries. Here are some tips to get grocery savings.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • grocery ads
  • coupons
  • notebook
  1. Step 1

    Get the store ads.

Most grocery stores have weekly sales ads. You can usually get these through the Sunday paper or from the stores themselves. Use the store ads to know what is on sale and stock up on your favorite items that you use often. Just be careful not to over buy, or then you are just wasting money.

  2. Step 2

    Combine store ads with coupons.

When possible, use store coupons in combination with sales for an even bigger grocery savings. If you have access to multiples of the same coupons, then that is even better.

  3. Step 3

Keep a price book of who has the best prices.

A price book is a book that you write down how much items costs at which stores. To get good grocery savings, it is important to know if the sale price really is the best price. If you have the prices written down, then it is very easy to just look the item up to see if the sale price really is a good grocery savings.
