Now "Butter" both edges of Block with at least 1/2" to 3/4" Mortar.

    • 3

Using the CENTER of the Block as a reference, insert Spacer into Mortar pressing it all the way down and resting on the Block below.

    • 4

Place Block HALFWAY onto Spacer. Tap down until the Block sets firmly in place. With your Trowel remove by scraping off all the excess "Mud" that squishes out of the Mortar Joints.

    • 5

"Butter sides of Block and continue the same procedure with all Courses. Clean up Mortar Joints.

Tips & Warnings

  • When "Buttering the sides of the Block it's helpful to give your Trowel a little shake. This will allow it to adhere better to the block as you're lifting it and placing it next to the adjacent Block. You can also temporarily use one of the Spacers to get the 3/8" space between each block.

  • Always check for "Plumb" with the Level as you build the wall vertically
