The Internet is a cyber replica of what the world should be. The World Wide Web has millions, or billions of computers linked together. This linking of computers worldwide is what creates the Internet. No one computer is any more important than the others. That's how the world should be; no one person any more important than the others.

If you're in business on the Internet you need the other computers (people) to maximize your success. The Internet, again, is just like life, therefore, you get out of it, what you put into it; no more, no less.

This article will clearly point out how, by giving to others, be it time, expertise, or money, you will reap the benefits because of the Universal Law known as the Law of Reciprocity.

The Law of Reciprocity is about a mutual give and take. It's about, "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine." This immutable law does not discriminate, it knows no color (except green), is suited for any culture, and works miraculously on the Internet.

Here's how to take advantage of this little known secret and apply it to your Internet ventures.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you are a blogger, you are part of a blogging community. Participate in the community by reviewing other blogs. If you read something humorous, informative, or just something you like, for whatever reason, reply or comment on the blog. Give praise to the blogger. If the blog has a donate button, and a secure payment method, such as PayPal, send them a buck or two. It won't break you and you will get that amount back, and more.

  2. Step 2

If you're part of a Social Networking site, be it Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, whatever, don't be so quick to try to sell something. If you're in business and you are utilizing the Social Networking site to promote your business, that's all well and good, but don't always come at your Social Networking friends with your hand out. Offer something that will benefit your associates from time to time. Offer free advice, a free service, or fun contest with no strings attached. This creates a win-win situation for you and your associates and in the long run, it benefits you in ways that you cannot imagine.

  3. Step 3

Remember the time tested aphorism, "as you sow, so shall you reap." Often, when people hear or read this adage, they tend to look at it from a negative perspective. However, you can begin to view it from a more positive light because it's applicable both ways.

Plants seeds of success by giving of your time, and a couple bucks here and there, and you will be pleasantly surprised at your harvest.

on 11/15/2009 This is great positive advice. I love the last sentence, "Plants seeds of success by giving of your time, and a couple bucks here and there, and you will be pleasantly surprised at your harvest." 5*
