You can use natural remedies to relieve stomach ulcer pain. Ulcers are sores that form in the lining of the stomach, esophagus, or the upper region of the small intestine. An ulcer causes chronic stomach pain, which increases as acid from the stomach comes into contact with the sore. Ulcer pain tends to be most severe when a person's stomach is empty. The pain can extend from the belly button to the breast bone. People who are experiencing symptoms on an ulcer should see a doctor before trying natural remedies on their stomach. Relief can be found by adding certain foods and natural seasonings to the diet.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Eat six small meals throughout the day. Spacing your meals out this way will help reduce stomach ulcer pain because it will help prevent additional discomforts caused by extreme hunger or over eating. Don't rush through your meals. Instead take your time to thoroughly chew your food. Do not eat right before going to bed because doing so can cause the release of gastric acid which can cause you pain while you sleep. Stop eating at least 2 hours before your bedtime.

  2. Step 2

Limit your consumption of alcohol. According to Mayo Clinic, drinking too much alcohol can cause chronic stomach pain in people with ulcers. That's because alcohol can diminish the lining of mucous along the intestines and stomach, which can lead to bleeding and inflammation.

  3. Step 3

Drink raw cabbage juice for natural stomach relief. Raw cabbage juice is good for the digestive tract and helps prevent ulcers as well as stomach acid reflux. Its effectiveness was put to the test during a study at Stanford University. Patients involved with the study who received raw cabbage juice daily reported being cured from their ulcers after just one week.

  4. Step 4

Sweeten your foods with honey. Honey is another natural treatment for chronic stomach pain. It stops the growth of H. pylori, which is a bacteria that causes ulcers. Use honey to sweeten your tea, toast, and cereal.

  5. Step 5

Drink red clover tea with meals. This tea also provides stomach relief from ulcer pain. It has a neutralizing effect on stomach acid and has a soothing effect. You can prevent night time flare-ups of stomach ulcer pain by drinking one cup of red clover tea before you go to bed at night.
