Repair Your Credit Yourself
Repair Your Credit Yourself

Many people waist hundreds of dollars paying companies to repair their credit when all along they could have done it themselves. Learn how you can hold on to your money by repairing your credit yourself.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

One of the ways to repair your credit is to first get a detailed copy of your credit report. You should review it for errors and if you do find errors dispute them. To dispute your errors you first need a confirmation number from the credit report you viewed, then dispute all the errors on your credit report but make sure these are charges you did not create or else they will reappear.

  2. Step 2

If you have an older car trade it in for a new car. When you trade in your car for a newer car two things happen one you will now have a car showing paid off on your credit report. Next you build a history of on time payments on your new car to help raise your credit score. Make sure you start paying every bill you have on time. Do not make any late payments on any bill or it will negatively effect your credit score.

  3. Step 3

You can also go to a local bank and apply for a loan and use money you have as collateral. If you have 500 dollars apply for a passbook loan using your $500 dollars as collateral, repay the loan in the time frame agreed upon and this will help you rebuild your credit. You can do this at multiple banks and through different methods using your credit. You can take the $500 dollars giving to you from the first bank and go to another bank and do the same thing.
