How to Deal with Insect Bites Using Natural Remedies

I hate mosquitoes and other biting insects. I’m an outdoors person and love to go camping and hiking but dread doing so during bug season. I always try to carry some bug medicine with me to treat these insect bites. Rather than using these chemicals, I’ve started to use a natural remedy that I’d like to share with you...

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Corn Starch
  • Water
  1. Step 1

Get some corn starch and put a decent amount of it into a cup of water. Mix this until you have a thick paste. Add more starch or water as necessary. You want it to be think and “gooey.”

  2. Step 2

Apply the paste to the affected area and leave on for awhile. This has the effect of drawing out the insect poison and may help soothe the area.

  3. Step 3

If you think this is tedious and difficult to do outdoors, it isn’t. All you need is a bag full of starch power and a bottle of water, two items that can easily fit into a backpack or as part of your camping gear.
