Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paint
  • Spray Paint
  • Vinyl Tiles
  • Stainless Steel Peel and Stick Film
  1. Step 1

Start by repairing whatever items you intend on keeping. Do not replace anything unless you have to. Fix that broken cabinet door, the leaky faucet, and that broken dishwasher. A functional kitchen is the most important thing.

  2. Step 2

Give your kitchen cabinets a fresh coat of paint if they are looking shabby. A clean white or a sophisticated black are both great colors for almost any look you are going for.

  3. Step 3

Spray paint them silver or oil rubbed bronze, if your hardware is still functional but is just an ugly color. Spray painting hardware is very easy with today’s products and will instantly update your kitchen for just a few dollars.

  4. Step 4

Give your kitchen countertops the look of granite by painting them. Thousands of people have done this with great success for only a hundred dollars. You can even paint over laminate!

  5. Step 5

Cover your existing ugly kitchen floor with vinyl peel and stick tile. These can easily be found for under $1 a square foot. With the quality and variety available today, you can get a beautiful kitchen floor that will last until you can really remodel.

  6. Step 6

Throwing out your ugly working appliances is tempting when you can not stand the sight of them. Until you can get new ones, cover your dishwasher, refrigerator, and stove with stainless steel peel and stick film. The application is easy and it will give your appliances an updated look without the cost of replacing them.

  7. Step 7

Enjoy your temporary remodel until you have the money for a real one.
