As the New Year gets ready to begin many people will once again make that faithful resolution; to lose weight. Losing weight is probably the number one resolution made every year. Many decide this time they are going to join a popular weight loss plan. One of the most popular plans is Weight Watchers. However, now days with the economy at an all time low. Tightening the belt is not because of weight loss, more like money loss. If you are determined to join Weight Watchers, know that it is possible to save money while being on the program.

    First you walk in the door for the first time there are fees involved. There is a registration fee and a weekly meeting fee. The registration fee is usually around twenty dollars but can vary by region. Once you join the weekly fee ranges from $12.00 to as low as $9.22 if you sign up for a monthly pass. Join during free registration which is offered a few times a year and save $20 right off the bat. Then decide to go with either the seventeen week pass for $179.00 or the monthly pass for $39.95 saving $6 to $8 a month on weekly meeting fees. The best bang for your buck is the monthly pass. It allows you to go to as many meetings as you would like, plus you are given access to etools (a website for members only) Etools for free. The access to this website is a $16.95 a month savings alone. The monthly pass is billed to your credit card each month until you cancel.

    Another great secret on how to pay for meetings is using your FSA (Flexible Spending Plan) which is offered through your employer. The Federal Government allows for these monies to pay for obesity. Making a simple appointment with your family doctor and obtaining a letter written by them. The letter should state either your BMI score or that is medically necessary for you to lose weight. Once you have this letter, you can use your FSA monies for meeting fees.

    Now you can keep your resolution, join Weight Watchers saving money in the process. Changing a lifestyle can be expensive but these few short cuts will have you trimming your waist while keeping the wallet fat.
