Smoothies are growing in popularity - and for good reason. When you drink a smoothie, you're not only getting calcium, but antioxidants from the fruit as well. You can change the taste and the health benefits by adding different fruits. The options are unlimited! Plus, drinking a smoothie is a great way to grab a quick and healthy lunch or breakfast. Here's how to make a basic smoothie with yogurt.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blender
  • A cup of fresh fruit
  • A cup of yogurt
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • A glass
  1. Step 1

To make a smoothie with yogurt, start by choosing your fruits. Berries are always a good choice since they're tasty and loaded with antioxidants. Adding banana is always a good idea, particularly if you like a thicker smoothie. You can use either fresh or frozen fruit. Many people prefer to use frozen fruit since it adds more texture to the finished smoothie. Whichever fruits you choose, you'll need a full cup.

  2. Step 2

Once you've decided upon your fruit, you'll need a cup of yogurt. To make a healthier smoothie with yogurt, choose low-fat yogurt with minimal sugar added. If not, choose regular yogurt. Smoothies made with regular yogurt will be slightly creamier.

  3. Step 3

Place the fruit in the blender and blend until smooth. If you're using frozen fruit, you may need to use the pulse function on the blender to break up the fruit.

  4. Step 4

To make a smoothie with yogurt, slowly pour the cup of yogurt into the blender and continue blending until everything is smooth and thoroughly mixed. You can add ice cubes to thicken the smoothie, but this isn't necessary if you're using frozen fruit.

  5. Step 5

Pour your smoothie with yogurt into a glass and enjoy!
