Determine what type of font you are looking for. Almost any font you can imagine can be found on the web for free. If you are looking for a particular font, make sure to write the name down so you can search for it later.

Head to urbanfonts.com. This site allows you to browse thousands of free fonts by category or name. They have a large selection of calligraphy fonts as well as cursive fonts. Either select a font from the featured categories or type a specific name or category into the search field.

Figure out whether the font you want is compatible with your operating system. In the bottom right hand corner of the font box it will say "WIN" or "MAC". If the font is able to be downloaded, click the icon to start the download. You can download as many free fonts as you like.
