Things You'll Need:
- DVD player or Blu Ray Player
-
Step 1
Start with a trial of Netflix for free. That's right, if you have never had a Netflix subscription before then the first 15 days are free to try. Take advantage of the offer to save some money and to make sure that Netflix is for you.
-
Step 2
Select which Netflix service you want. Currently Netflix offers unlimited plans with either 1 DVD or Blu Ray at a time or 2 at a time. If you watch movies then return them quickly you can easily get 4-6 cycles per month of new movies delivered to your address.
-
Step 3
Take advantage of Netflix Starz Play. Staz Play is streaming movie content that is instantly available to a Netflix ready device or to a PC or Mac. There are over 1000 titles available for unlimited download to a computer or Netflix ready device. The Netflix ready devices include Tivo HD, Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 330, Roku Digital Video Player, LG, Insigna, Sony, and Samsung network Blu Ray Players, and LG HDTV's with Netcast Broadband. Otherwise, if your HDTV has a PC input or your PC has an HNDI output, you can connect the PC or laptop directly to your big screen TV. Starz Play is included with any unlimited plan or can be ordered without the DVD rentals for $7.99/ Month.
-
Step 4
If you subscribe to cable or satellite TV, particularly if you pay extra for premium movie channels, compare the cost of Netflix. With Netflix you get current movies available at any rental store like Blockbuster or Red box. Premium movie channels offer movies that are typically 3 months or more older. In addition, you get to pick the movies you want to watch and can watch them when you want.
-
Step 5
Give up going to rent movies at Blockbuster or from a Red box. With netflix you avoid costly late fees or "restocking fees" associated with other rental companies. You can return the movies anytime you like, however, you will only get new movies when the old ones are returned.
