How to Freeze-Dry Raspberries at Home
Frozen fruits and vegetables are handy when you are preparing a meal and you can't (or don't want to) run to a grocery store. Just about any fruit, including raspberries, can be cleaned, packed in a container and placed in your freezer---usually without your having to buy anything special. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Dry raspberries
- Colander or strainer
- Paper towels
- Pot
- Cookie sheet
- Refrigerator with a freezer or free-standing freezer
- Black marker
- Measuring cup
- Large freezer bags with a top that seals

Place the dry raspberries into a colander or strainer.

Wipe the raspberries with a clean, dry paper towel to remove any dust and debris.

Dispose of any raspberries that are bruised or damaged. Place the damaged ones in a pot for later disposal.

Place the raspberries on a cookie sheet, and spread the raspberries flat by moving the berries around with your fingers.

Place the cookie sheet of raspberries in to your refrigerator's freezer or a free-standing freezer for one hour.

Write on the outside of a freezer bag, with a black marker, "Dry Raspberries" or similar wording.

Place about four cups of frozen raspberries gently into a large freezer bag.

Lay the freezer bag flat, and push out any air that may be present in the bag before sealing.

Place the bag of dry raspberries in your refrigerator's freezer or your free-standing freezer. Make sure you place them toward the back where it is the coldest.

Repeat steps 6-9 to freeze another four cups of dry raspberries.

Do not wash the dry raspberries before freezing.
Do not thaw the frozen dry raspberries in the microwave.
