How to Change the Font Color of a Hyperlink

By default, when a hyperlink is displayed in a web browser, it is usually shown in a shade of blue. However, it is a little-known fact that the configuration options for some web browsers contain the ability to change the default color shown when a link is displayed. Change the color of hyperlinks in Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to add to your browsing experience.

Instructions

  1. Microsoft Internet Explorer

      Click "Tools," then click "Internet Options."

      Click the "Colors" button on the bottom of the window, under the "Appearance" category.

      Remove the check from the box labeled "Use Windows colors."

      Click the color block next to "Visited" and "Unvisited" to change the font color displayed for visited and unvisited hyperlinks, respectively.

      Click "OK" twice to save your changes.

    Mozilla Firefox

      Click the "Content" tab, then click the "Colors" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • Apple's Safari web browser allows users to change the default fonts used for web pages, under the "Appearances" menu. Unfortunately, it does not contain an option to change font colors. Google's Chrome web browser is also missing this functionality.
