How to Wear Skate Pom Poms

Making a comeback on scarves, shoes and even as far as the Paris catwalk for Fashion Week, fabric pom poms are now in rotation. Not surprisingly, roller skating pom poms have joined the bandwagon. For anyone nostalgic for roller skating styles of past this may come as good news. These colorful puffs of fabric are easy to find and to easy to apply. Tie some on to your laces for your next retro flashback.

Instructions

1. Lace up your skates, but don't put them on your feet just yet.

2. Use the two strings attached to each pom pom to tie them to the outside of the laces near the toe of the skate. Usually this is done one pom pom per shoe, though if you are a rebel, feel free to add more.

3. Tie the pom pom strings into a firm knot around the laces to secure them flush against the skate.

4. Tuck the loose end of the strings under your laces or behind the tongue of your skates.

5. Put on your skates and lace them up completely for the finished look.
