How to Make Fruit Scents With Essential Oils
Fruit is one fragrance family; some of the other families being floral, wood and musk. Scents in the same family always mix well together when creating a perfume or a new scented oil. When combining different scents, you should also take into account which individual scent will be the base note, the middle note and the top note. Base and middle notes are usually more mellow, while the scents that are used for top notes are always more crisp.

1
Select three or four individual scents from the fruit family. An example of three scents that would harmonize well together are Lime for the top note, Juniper Berry as the middle note, and Apple or Melon as the base note. You can also use a scent from another family, such as Vanilla essential oil, as the base note.

2
Use a dropper to add about 8 drops of the base note to the empty bottle you will be using to contain your new scent. Next you will add 5 or 6 drops of the essential oil you selected as your middle note and 4 drops of the top note. The number of drops you add depends on how much perfume you are making and how strong you want it to be.
