How to Freeze Steaks
One of the easiest and most cost-efficient ways to purchase steak is to do so in bulk. The only problem with that method is that most households don't go through enough steak to justify purchasing a bunch at once. Fortunately, for those who have access to a freezer, doing so becomes quite simple. Before throwing your steaks in the freezer, though, consider a few tips and tricks that will preserve the integrity of the frozen steak for long periods of time. Does this Spark an idea?

Cut away any excess fat around the steak with a sharp knife.

Dampen a clean washcloth and gently wipe the meat with it.

Wrap each steak individually in sheet wrapping material. You can use either butcher wrap or aluminum foil.

Push any air out of the package and make sure no air can get in.

Wrap the steak one more time to ensure there are no openings. If air touches your steak in the freezer, it will get freezer burn and will not be good to eat. You can put your wrapped steak in a plastic freezer bag for extra protection.

Label the package to remind yourself of the contents and date you placed in the freezer.

Tips & Warnings
Any time you have frozen meat, it should be stored at a temperature of 0 degrees F or below. At this temperature it will last up to one year.
