How to Draw a Cat and Dog Fighting

Drawing a dog and cat fighting is easy if you focus on each animal separately. The most important thing to pay extra attention to is the body language of the cat and dog to accurately portray the dislike they have for each other. By implementing some cartoon-like expression on their faces, you will be able to pull off a picture of the two animals fighting without getting overly violent.

    • 1

Use a pencil to draw the cat first on a piece of paper. The cat should have a slender body with a head facing forward and slightly upward so that it is looking directly at the dog later. The cat's mouth should be open, as if it were spitting or snarling, and one or both of its front paws should be up in the air as if swiping. Draw the cat's tail upright. Use the pencil to add soft wisps around the tail and body so that it appears that the cat's fur is sticking straight out. Add any stripes or specific breed features you'd like the cat to have.

Draw the dog next. The body language of an angry dog isn't as obvious as that of a cat, but can be portrayed just the same. Make sure the dog is crouching to near eye level with the cat with its teeth bared. All four paws should be solid on the ground, and the dog's ears should be perked forward. Use the pencil to draw two small lines over the dog's eyes, slanted angrily downward and giving the impression of eyebrows.

Use an eraser to eliminate any stray lines or size inconsistencies with either animal. You can also choose to draw small lines around the cat's front paws and the dog's tail before using the eraser to smudge them into motion lines.
