How to Remove Cola Stains From Cotton

Oh the power of cola---rumored to do everything from taking the rust off a car's bumper to cleaning highway accidents, cola has gained a rather strange reputation over the years. One thing for certain is that it does is stain clothes. There's no disputing that. Removing cola stains from cotton is easily accomplished, if you act quickly. Wherever possible, blot as much of the cola off of the item before you attempt to remove the stain.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Lay the cotton item on a flat surface with the stain facing up.

  2. Step 2

    Dip a clean cloth in white vinegar.

  3. Step 3

    Wipe the stain with the cloth, adding more white vinegar, as needed.

  4. Step 4

    Continue gently wiping until the stain is no longer visible.

  5. Step 5

    Launder the garment according to the instructions on the tag.

Tips & Warnings
  • For cotton items that cannot be laundered, use the white vinegar to remove it and set it someplace cool to dry.
