How to Make No Sew Back Slipcovers for Folding Chairs
No-sew slipcovers for the backs of folding chairs are easy to make. This project requires simple measuring, cutting and ironing, and will take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Things You'll Need
- Large piece of cardboard
- Marker
- 1 yard of fabric
- 2 yards of 3/8-inch iron-on fusible web tape
- Scissors
- Iron and ironing board
- Wide satin ribbon (optional)
- Small safety pin (optional)

Place the folded chair on a piece of cardboard and trace around the back, starting and ending just above the seat.

Draw another line on the cardboard one inch outside the first. Cut along this line to make a pattern.

Cut two pieces of fabric using the cardboard pattern.

Place the fabric pieces on your ironing board with their right sides together.

Fuse the fabric pieces together using 3/8-inch fusible iron-on web tape along the outside edges.

Clip the curves by cutting into the seam allowance halfway. This will help to prevent the seam from splitting.

Press under 1/4 inch on the bottom edge, then press under 3/8 inch. Fuse the hem using the iron-on web tape.

Turn the slipcover right-side out.

Make a bow with wide satin ribbon in a color that complements your fabric. Place a small safety pin through one side of the knot and pin the bow to the cover. (optional)

Tips & Warnings
Place a press cloth or a small towel over the fabric when using the iron-on web tape to keep your iron clean.
If you're making multiple slipcovers, do one step at a time on all the covers to make the task go quicker.
